The Human Resources Generalist is a hands-on, high-accountability role that supports the full employee lifecycle with a strong emphasis on recruiting, onboarding, and day-to-day HR support. This position serves as the primary backup to the HR Manager and is expected to operate independently, anticipate needs, and keep work moving without constant direction. The role balances people-focused work with compliance and process discipline, helping ensure the HR function runs smoothly even when the HR Manager is unavailable.

Essential Functions:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Partner closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, role requirements, and timelines.
Own day-to-day recruiting activities, including sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews.
Conduct initial candidate screenings and interviews to assess qualifications, cultural fit, and role alignment.
Present qualified candidates to hiring managers and support interview decision-making.
Coordinate interview schedules and candidate communications.
Prepare and deliver employment offers, including offer letters.
Coordinate post-offer testing and pre-employment requirements.
Schedule start dates with department managers and communicate details to candidates.
Transition new hire information into onboarding and HR systems.
Support and help lead new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
Represent the company at job fairs, recruiting events, and community hiring initiatives.
HR Operations & Employee Support
Serve as a key point of contact for team members with questions related to benefits, time off, policies, and procedures.
Coordinate benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and annual processes.
Assist with administration of corporate health insurance and benefit programs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR information systems.
Maintain employee files in accordance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
Act as an HR liaison across all EBY locations, ensuring consistent communication and follow-through.
Compliance, Safety & Leave Administration
Manage the FMLA process from intake through documentation, tracking, and communication.
Assist with internal audits and support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Help ensure company policies and procedures are implemented and followed consistently.
Support safety training coordination and completion across all locations.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee and company information.
General Responsibilities
Provide reliable backup support to the HR Manager, ensuring continuity of HR operations during absences.
Proactively identify issues, recommend improvements, and help streamline HR processes.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
